At MIMAF, we’re dedicated to boosting agricultural development in Nebbi, located in the West Nile Region of Uganda. Our focus lies on enhancing value chains in horticulture and apiary sectors. We strive to empower local communities, promote sustainability, and create economic opportunities through our projects and services.

Horticulture and Apiary Value Chain Development:

  1. Seedling Production: MIMAF produces high-quality seedlings of various horticultural crops such as tomatoes, peppers, and onions, ensuring farmers have access to healthy plants for cultivation.
  2. Training and Capacity Building: We conduct training sessions and workshops to equip farmers with essential skills and knowledge in modern farming techniques, including crop management, pest control, and post-harvest handling.
  3. Access to Inputs and Resources: MIMAF facilitates access to agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment, enabling farmers to improve their productivity and yield.
  4. Market Linkages: We establish connections between farmers and markets, assisting them in accessing reliable markets for their produce. This includes forging partnerships with local markets, cooperatives, and export channels.
  5. Value-Added Processing: MIMAF supports value addition activities such as processing and packaging of horticultural products, enhancing their market value and creating additional income streams for farmers.
  6. Apiary Management: In the apiary sector, we provide training and resources for beekeeping, including hive management, honey extraction, and hive product diversification.
  7. Honey Quality Enhancement: MIMAF promotes quality standards in honey production, helping beekeepers adhere to hygiene and safety practices to produce premium-grade honey.
  8. Market Development for Bee Products: We facilitate market access for bee products such as honey, beeswax, and propolis, connecting beekeepers with local and international buyers to expand their market reach.
  9. Research and Innovation: MIMAF engages in research and innovation initiatives to develop improved farming practices, resilient crop varieties, and sustainable beekeeping techniques tailored to the local context.
  10. Community Empowerment: Through our projects, we empower local communities by providing them with opportunities for income generation, employment, and skills development in agriculture and apiculture.
